The Pollenzo Agency, built in the first half of the 19th century at the behest of Charles Albert, is now an international reference point for food and wine culture and quality food.
Established as a model farmhouse of the House of Savoy to experiment with and improve agricultural and oenological activities, it now houses the University of Gastronomic Sciences, the Wine Bank and the Albergo dell'Agenzia, thanks to the recovery and happy intuition of Carlo Petrini, founder of Slow Food.
The extraordinary neo-Gothic architecture that makes up the village, inspired by the rediscovery of the Middle Ages and built on the remains of the ancient Roman city of Pollentia, has received UNESCO World Heritage status.
