Combine a guided tour of Kalatà with Landandè itineraries and discover with a new formula, the Monregalese territory
With the arrival of spring, the desire to explore and surprise oneself grows.
This year, Kalatà and Sentiero Landandè, partners for the promotion of the Monregalese, offer you a new formula to (re)discover the area: combine the climb and visit to the Dome of the Sanctuary of Vicoforte or the guided tour to the Castle of Casotto – Garessio CN with a walkable or mtb itinerary among those designed by Landandè. Plan a day in nature and admire the area at your own pace!
Officially created in May 2010, the Landandè trail groups a set of routes that wind through the Monregalisi countryside. While the original trail covered the municipalities of Vicoforte, Briaglia, and Niella Tanaro, the project has expanded over the years to include the petals-so the different active circuits are called-of San Michele Mondovì, Mondovì in 2019, and Monasterolo Casotto and Viola between 2021 and 2022.
Here are our proposals:
Combine the Ascent and Visit to the Dome of the Sanctuary of Vicoforte with the Orange Petal of Mondovi.
The loop trail, which begins on the right of the Vicoforte Sanctuary by climbing up the steep San Rocco Street, is marked with fuchsia-colored flower arrows (up to Borgo di Vicoforte) and orange-colored flower arrows from Borgo di Vicoforte onward. 15.5 km long, with a total positive elevation gain of 608 meters (extreme elevation points 610 mt. a.s.l. / 389 mt. a.s.l.), it is an easy itinerary with a marked cultural interest (suggestive is the visit to the various pedestrian alleys of the medieval Piazza district of Mondovi, culminating at the sensational Belvedere where the view sweeps over the Alps).
To better orient yourself, to choose alternative routes, or to reduce the length of the loop, we recommend that you Obtaining the Landandé map of the route..
Purchase ticket for the climb and visit to the Vicoforte Sanctuary Dome
Combine a guided tour of Casotto Castle with the Yellow Petal of Monasterolo and Viola
The route begins at the Shrine of Madonna della Neve in San Grée di Viola, which can be reached by car from Borgo di Pamparato. The loop route, with an elevation gain of 840 m, measures 14 km and is marked by yellow flower signs. Suitable for average hikers, it alternates between chestnut forests and grassland clearings. The lowest point is at the Borgata Soprana di Monasterolo at 817 m.a.s.l., the highest at the Giant Bench of Viola at 1,167 m.a.s.l. (only pedestrians are recommended to climb to the bench of Viola as the trail is not suitable for bicycles). The loop has a travel time of more than 4 hours. Alternatively, it is possible to drive to the hamlet of Tetti Casotto on the valley floor and from there ascend to the soprana hamlet of Monasterolo Casotto from where you start on foot following the same signs. There is the possibility of walking two sections reduced to 9 kilometers by following the “9Km loop” sign that, through a signaled link, closes the route between the Garassini Sottani and the Four Streets, reducing the walking time to a good 2 hours. Please note that from the Shrine of Madonna della Neve there is a beautiful single track trail suitable for MtB that leads to the Monasterolo bench.
To better orient yourself, to choose alternative routes, or to reduce the length of the loop, we recommend that you To obtain the Landandé map of the route..
