One of the most fascinating royal residences, located in the municipality of Garessio (CN), in Val Casotto at 1,090 meters above sea level, returns to welcome visitors.
The castle, which stands on the remains of an ancient Carthusian monastery, was acquired by the Savoy and converted into a hunting lodge by Charles Albert. Nestled and hidden among centuries-old woods, in a place originally chosen for prayer and meditation, Casotto Castle surprises and conquers.
After a long period of closure, during which major restoration work was carried out by the Piedmont Region-owner of the property-it will once again be possible to discover its vicissitudes and curiosities through a guided tour that will allow visitors to explore the exterior rooms, the apartments complete with furnishings, the royal chapel, and to climb the bell tower.
