In the stunning setting of the Royal Gardens, we will follow in the footsteps of little Anna: raised by a loving father, who passed on to her a passion for study and science, Anna classifies plants, flowers and algae by drawing them and collecting them in her herbarium and, thanks to John Herschel, a pioneer of photography, she discovers cyanotype, the art of capturing nature through chemistry and sunlight in a wonderful, eternal blue. Her story will be a starting point for exploring this wonderful technique together on a journey through art history, nature, science, and equal opportunity.
While the children experiment in the laboratory, parents can participate in a guided tour of the Royal Gardens to discover the different plant species that inhabit them.
In case of cloudy weather the children's activity will be replaced with an alternative one. In case of rain, the activity will be postponed.
Recommended for children aged 6 to 10 years. Duration about 60 minutes
