The Diotti Museum, established in 2007, is housed in an old mansion that was owned by painter Giuseppe Diotti (1779-1846). Respecting the wishes of its illustrious inhabitant and restoring the appearance of a private home, the museum is proposed not only as a picture gallery of the 19th century, but also as a house-museum aimed at reconstructing the image of the atelier and didactically restoring the artist's working method. The tour, curated by conservator Valter Rosa, will focus on the rooms of Giuseppe Diotti's house where several phases of the painter's activity are documented, chronologically and thematically, from his earliest training to his years of study in Rome, from preparatory drawings for altarpieces and frescoes (showing his elaborate research on drapery and the human figure) to the works of his maturity. The guided tour, curated by curator Valter Rosa, will focus on the museum rooms that document early education, further education in Rome, and articulate use of the drawing instrument.
